It’s Mindful Monday and today we’re going to give you some tips and tricks on being more mindful.

So what is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is exactly how it sounds. It’s a state of mind. It’s the practice of being aware of your surroundings, how your body feels, your thoughts and feelings. It’s a process that brings you to a state of calmness.

Today we are going to focus on being more mindful in all aspects of our day. So take a deep breath, and let’s get started.

Below is a daily action item that will help you to become more mindful in your day and relationships.

20 Minutes of Mindfulness Activity

It’s Mindful Monday and today we are going to talk about those things that make you smile. When was the last time that you consciously thought about those things? What are those things to you? What are the emotions that arise when you think about them?

Those things that make you smile could be as simple as helping to teach a child how to fly an airplane; assisting in your child’s 3rd grade class; organizing a party for your best friend’s promotion, or taking a walk on the beach when the tide is out. The list goes on….but is very different for each person.

Today’s 1st action item:

Think about something that makes you Smile! Something you daydream about during your day. If you had the financial wherewithal and autonomy to do whatever you wanted on a given day, what would you do with that day?

Let’s create that day! Get out a journal and spend 20 minutes writing down how that day looks. And it needs to be super detailed my friend.

I want you to describe the weather and the clothes you are wearing. How you are feeling? What is around you? Who are you with? Feel the description as you write it in your journal as you visualize it.

For example: I am at the beach sitting on the sand near the shore watching the surfers catch waves as the birds are flying overhead and the mist from the crashing waves can be felt on my cheeks. Now, it's your turn. Start daydreaming of the thing that makes you smile and write it down.

Enjoy the process, be mindful of the details, and I bet you can’t help but be smiling as you think about what excites you.

With love & kindness,
